Personally, I don't think Iraq has much if anything to do with it.


Al Qaeda has a different opinion, clearly, since they have been pouring resources into Iraq. Whatever you think the links were pre 2003 between the Baathists and Al Qaeda, there can be no question of the links between them post 2003 in the Sunni insurgency.
