The Rove Emails

Jonah Goldberg
The Corner

From a reader:

<<< Jonah,

Have not followed this real close. Probably because it seems much ado about nothing [except the way the White House is handling the media]. Could these emails be like comparing apples and oranges? Rove and Gonzales were in on discussions of firing all 93 in JAN 2005 [two years before the 8 were let go] - that idea/proposal never happened.

Are the media and dems claiming those discussions led to the firing of 8 US Attorneys two years later? Or did it?
Shouldn't Justice and White House / Counsel periodically be discussing performance of U.S. Attorneys?

Have Rove and Gonzales have said there was never ANY discussions in the White House about the performance of any U.S. Attorneys? [that's unrealistic even if they did say it]?

And the quals of Rove's 'buddy' that got one of the positions sure can't hurt crime fighting like Leahy claims. Sounds over qualified for GOV Service. >>>
