"Everyone from Sinclair to Bill Murphy, gold bugs old and new alike -- have called Barrick for what it was...is...and will always be:...the favored vehicle of the Investment Bankers and the Gold Cabal."

AMEN BROTHER!

It is NOT good news in the long run.

Slider, you truly see the world through a different lens than the average bear (or, bull).

Talking about investment banks. Man- they are ka-chinging the register on this subprime meltdown. They made money in bringing them public, made money loaning them money, made money in underwriting their bonds, made money on the mergers & acquisitions, made money in selling the bundled mortgages, and now are making money in siphoning off their assets and reselling them- not to mention their trading departments simultaneously shorting the hell out of them- as the other hand lends them money- with the remaining liquid assets as collateral- at pennies on the dollar.

Ron

PS: ....you can't even imagine what they've got in store for you next...

"I'd keep those chin-straps fastened tight.

Inflation numbers hot..and gold is impotent.

So Whasssup?

...wouldn't you like to know?"

Not really since any deals between Barrick and Newmont DOES NOT increase total gold reserves. Whatcha tryin to do, scare us? I'm shakin for joy because the $USD is toast and gold reigns supreme.
