That's true, I know a Secret Service agent who now works for the GAO and told me back in 2002 that this was the most corrupt administration he and his people had ever seen. The non-partisan GAO was the only investigator in town during the Bush-Delay-Frist years. They were the first to condemn the massive cheating by the GOP in Ohio 2004 and a lot more. They will continue to be very influential, though mainly behind the scenes. They serve the people, not any one party. My laser physicist friend at Rice University told me flat out that SDI is a total waste of money and they "have nothing". SDI is a favorite boondoggle of the Bush-Cheney crowd, a huge black hole into which tens of billions are thrown. Their cronies aere no doubt pocketing huge profits from it all. SDI neds to be thoroughly investigated and disbanded or scaled down. That money is badly needed elsewhere.
