I have found this out in the school of lost money.


LOL! You and me both! I call it "paying the tuition in the School of the Market!" No matter what one calls it, it is a painful lesson.

I think one can take the lesson and go two ways:

- learn from it and become a better trader or,
- go into denial and eventually become embittered.

I've been working on the first! Hope you are too!

While many poo-poo technical analysis, for me it has been a key tool in leaving emotional investing behind.

It is hard to take a loss when one's story stock falls and one continues to "believe." But as is emphasized here often - capital preservation is job one. In the beginning I never really understood the phrase, "In order to make money, one has to learn how to not loose money." That is why you will see me cheerfully taking a shave of a hair cut here and there and taking small scalps. Small gains or small losses sure beat the pants off BIG losses! lol!
