"In each case you have doubled the number of cores" doesn't necessarily mean that "the speed of each core doesn't have to go down as much", even if your considering "going down as much" to mean going from 2 to 4 doesn't have to drop as much as 1 to 2.

In any case that wasn't my point.

My point was that going from 1 to 4, requires a bigger drop than 1 to 2.
