Its relevant because customers might decide that the drop in clock rate from single core is worth it to get double core, but that an additional drop isn't worth it for the diminishing marginal returns of more cores at this time.

I guess, but I think customers for the high-end aren't even considering single-core anymore... it's all DC with some QC at the top, so I think they'll compare any clock change to DC.
