Yes, given that the solar models that do fit the previous warming/cooling trends completely break down in attempting to model the last twenty years. But, when the solar and CO2 models are combined, they accurately model not only the previous trends, but the current trend.

That's why so many in the scientific community are convinced of the link between CO2 and current warming - evidence, scientific method and theory, and correlative modeling.
