"Society tries to protect the weakest among us. It's called civilization. " Give it up. Civilization is so historical. The new trend is every man for himself. Yeah, I know. The Neadertals and Cro Magnons coddled their weak, and look what happened to them. Or the Romans, where are they? True strength is realized when each individual realizes that they can only rely on themselves. Like in the Old West. Where freedom reigned. Too bad that the people didn't realize how good they had it. If they weren't able to standoff an assault by bandits or Indians, then they weren't fit for society. Everybody should be able to standoff an assault of an arbitrarily large group of assailants. If they can't they have only their selves to blame. Anything else is weakness. Have I made it clear that I dislike Ayn Rand's works? She was very much anti-civilization. Most libertarians are anti-civilization. Which is why I break with them. Like with the survivalists, being civilized is not a weakness. Being civilized is a strength. There is a reason that the decline of th British Empire correlates so strongly with the phrase "screw you Jack, I've got mine". When you concentrate on your own, you are circumventing the strength of the group.
