Do you remember Saddam's Minister of Information wildly false and desperate statements during the war in Iraq to rally the regime's followers (or save his butt). He even claimed the U.S. bomb attacks in Baghdad were Hollywood trickery. He disappeared and everybody misses him.

Army Commander: Iran will stun enemy
Fri, 16 Mar 2007 18:01:09
Iran's Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi says the country's enemy will be stunned by its military power, according to Mehr news agency.
"Iran has achieved tremendous military power incomparable with what it had during the Iraq-Iran war, which is based on our youth's hard work. Their innovations include marvels in different military aspects such as military intelligence, military medicine, electronic war, active and passive defense."

Stressing the importance of human resources, the commander said, "The Army has studied strengths and weaknesses of the enemy. Furthermore, our dexterous committed troops are prepared to defend Iran more efficiently than they did during Iraq-Iran war."

Salehi has inaugurated several new projects in the Army, including a modern air-defense system.

Two other projects are the radar disruption system and the warning system, which is capable of identifying mobile equipment and enemy troops in the battlefield.

Instead of indirect looting as in WS, US War department or other crooks, there is no facade. Just as direct as it gets.

Gold theft in a Japanese museum

The museum left the safe open so that visitors could touch the gold
Three masked men have stolen a massive block of gold bullion on display in a museum in Japan.

The gold bar, valued at $1.71m (1.27m euro; £0.87m), weighed about 220 pounds (100kg) and was kept in an open safe.

The museum, in the central city of Takayama, said the gold was not protected by sensors as they wanted visitors to be able to touch it.

But the group of thieves went one step further, helping themselves to the precious metal and dragging it away.

The gold was lugged past an employee alerted by the noise, down a staircase and out of the museum where the three men were driven away by a fourth accomplice.

"The gold was exhibited on the second floor, which was monitored by a security camera from the first floor," said 59-year-old Hisao Nakahagi, the owner of the gold.
