Not a lot. Just a token... I think the West is the "new South" for the Dems. A Democratic Western Governor can be as effective as a Southern Governor was in the past. Richardson has enough of an independent streak to appeal to the Western semi-Libertarians, who have been moving towards the Dems. He also has the competence thing nailed in comparison to the other candidates on both sides. I think most voters are sick of the left/right ideological thing, and just want somebody that can actually run an efficient government. Money and organization are his weakness. He's up against star power in the age of American Idol. I'm not sure credentials make any difference any more. Off to play golf... John
