Saddam had made deals with the French, Russians and others, cutting out Exxon and Chevron two key Bush family corporate allies. Halliburton, Cheney's company, is the world's biggest war profiteer plus one of the top oilfield servicers so put it together and that's more than enough personal reason for Bush-cheney to agree that an invasion of Iraq would be a great idea, a slam-dunk, especially if they can conjur up phony evidence that Saddam is a huge evil threat to the US with a nuclkear weapons program, tons of WMD and ties to Al Qaida. None of which wre true, but it didn't stop them from saying so, did it?

You have to understand, Bush and Cheney are selfish individuals. Both are deeply tied to Big Oil and war profiteers. Those are the companies that have buttered their bread since day one. Plus Dubai, the Saudis, even the Bin Laden family, which owns the Halliburton of Saudi Arabia. The Bushes and Bin LAdens go way back.
