I have been studying up on the tungsten. IMO, it will not be long before anyone can not buy tungsten from China. You will be able to buy tungsten carbide, or machine tool steel but not tungsten.

Also IMO, there will be a "chit hitting the fan" scenario that will cause US Dept of Defense to stop using depleted uranium (due to environmental problems when that uranium vaporizes on impact with armor) in their armor piercing shells and go back to tungsten alloys. This will cause a real tightening of supplies in the near term future, IMO.

The quotes I am getting show prices have stabilized at about $175 per metric ton unit for WO3. I figure that works out to $7.95 per lb (divide $175 by 22) for WO3. W atomic wt is 184, oxygen is 16 so 3 x 16 plus 184 = 232, so tungsten is 184/232 the wt of WO3 so value of the tungsten is $10.02 per pound. If you were able to up-grade to ammonium paratungate, you can get $15.16 per pound of contained tungsten.

apparently op costs of chem plant to convert WO3 to ammonium paratungate is very low. But if you do not have a plant you pays what the plant owner asks.

Ya think this emerging tungsten situation might impact Roxmark's plans?
