Armitage worked for Bush. He was one of several who outed Plame, including Rove and Libby, both of whom lied about it. But remember, everything started with Cheney. He was the boss. Your logic would let off a mafia don just because his hitmen carried out the crimes, and not the don prsonally.

If you want to understand the current WHite House just thnk of it as a Mafia. Like the smearvets. They buffered themselves, lied saying they had nothing to do with it. Instead, they gave the job to Tom Delay and his Texas funders with secret assistance from Rove.

PS: Armitage was the alleged point man of the October Suprise where ge, working for Reagan's campaign, secvretly contacted the Iranians and made a deal to give them arms if they held onto the hostages until after the election, thereby dooming Carter. Armitage is a tough guy. He drank the koolaid too, though he has since weaned himself off it, probably after seeing how they mistreated Colin Powell and set him up as yet another fall guy.
