The only nation in the world that pays for medical research and energy research for egalitarian reasons is the USA. The energy equation will solve itself. As energy resource exploitation becomes more expensive, the market will force invention. Why don't we tap more solar energy? We could launch a huge photoelectric collector and microwave the energy to ground based collector / converters. It would be massively expensive to build and dirt cheap to run. Regardless, the Kyoto protocol is just closet communism, and even the socialist nations are not complying.
