Yes a dead baby is a dead baby. But a dead very premature baby probably won't be counted as a dead baby in another country, and probably will be counted in the US.

And considering full term babies, there are many other factors that have little to do with the medical care system. To the extent that US is worse in those factors than another country you can try to call the US on it, but socialized health care isn't going to make a difference on those factors.

PS - any writer that signs himself off as "Ph.D" on the byline is most assuredly a pompous ass.

Maybe he is a pompous add but that's irrelevant. Its ad-hominem rather than addressing the issue. "Pompous add" doesn't equal "incorrect about this issue".
