I 2nd your opinion on this. Its two bad the MPAA and RIAA are powerful enough to pressure equipment creators in to including such crap in systems and components.

GW, Re: do not expect AMD OCUR cards to show up on eBay in the near future. Even with the hardware, systems require BIOS-level support and authentication; CableCARD PCs constantly ping CableLabs for authentication.> We'll see. I think it's a CYA on MSFT's part. From my read of the MSFT PR BS it takes an install of OEM vista with the cable ready features on a cable ready box. Upgrades won't do the job, but I think OEMs will if the box has the right parts.... -tgp
