I had never heard the expression - "beat him/her like a redheaded stepchild" until last month. Apparently redheads pop up or out from the most unexpected parent combo - my sis, a blonde and her late husband - jet black hair had a copper headed girl. There is definitely a stigma attached to redheads and it goes back ages. So I'm wondering if it has something to do with the Vikings and their invasions...and didn't the Bolsheviks of Stalin times purge the country of "white Russians," the Nordic descendants...pretty sure that's the case. Can't find the book about why the redhead hate. But it's interesting that scientists have discovered the "redhead gene" and not others yet. Also, redheads feel pain 20% more intensely than others. Maybe they're proof of aliens. :) My daughter's a strawberry blonde, but she thinks I'm an alien.
