Yep, health insurance is a racket. It's hugely inefficient in comparison to, gasp, the federal government. Now that the Bushies have gotten their hooks into Medicare, they're out to turn that into an inefficient behemoth just like the private companies. Can you imagine how much safer people would feel if they knew that an accident or a disease wouldn't bankrupt them? Can you imagine how nice it would be for everyone to be able to get all of the health care they need to stay healthy? They wouldn't be tied to a job they hate just because of the 'benefits' and employers wouldn't have to wonder if health care costs would take them under.
