Its ironic that Clinton's selfishness and lack of character made GWB the president. If Clinton had resigned - like Newt did for the good of his party - Gore would have run as an incumbent in 2000 and given the closeness of the election would almost certainly have won.

BTW, Gore would likely have gone to war with Iraq too, despite what he says now.
