re: Had this been anyone else, Rush would have torn him a new bunghole.

In your dreams. Rush couldn't win a debate with a turnip; that's why he never faces serious opposition on his show.

Limbaugh-Hannity don't use facts in their "debates", they use buzz words, myths, false rumors, smears, out-dated cliches and exaggerations. Plus they are loud-mouths who out-shout opponents and cut them off. Plus they usually screen intelligence progressives out ahead of time to avoid them.

I'll give you an example. If they were debating about Gore, they'd say "He said he invented the internet and he burns ten times the energy average people do". Well the first line is a total lie, and the second is sleazy disinformation based on the fact Gore does live in a large house, but powers it using new green energy systems which cost a lot more. So his energy BILL is ten times the average, not his energy useage, and he is going green, one chunk at a time.

That's just one example. Hannity will also shout over whomever he's debating and say things like "If it was up to you and your liberal friends Ronald Reagan would never have ended the Soviet Union". Again, an obnoxious false myth Hannity himself is perpetuating. Reagan ended the Soviet Union? Ha! I asked some 65 year old Russian friends about that and they scoffed. They told me Russians were so sick of their governmment by 1980 that the USSR would have fallen no matter who was in power in the US. And Gorbachev was the one who made it happen. When Reagan made his Berlin Wall speech the USSR had already fallen. It was strong symbolism but it was after the fact. In fact Osama Bin ALden probably deserves as much credit as Reagan, for beating the Soviets in Afghanistan with CIA-supplied Stinger missiles.
