That's what my dad did when he started having rental properties built for him, took every one of the classes at the junior college.

The chance of shoddy construction increases dramatically during the tail end of a building boom.. So be extra careful of houses built 1987-90 and 2003-06..

Anybody truly interested in learning the proper way to build a house should order the 2 volume set from Journal Of Light Construction--Field Guide To Residential Construction--Manuals of Best Practices. These are absolutely great very well written and illustrated.
