my mother had cancer of the jaw bone in 1969. we removed the left bone section, and she had radiation for six weeks all done at mass gen hospital. she lasted 16 more years cancer free then a large tumor appeared in her throat, i expect it was there for sometime but she never told anyone as she never accepted she had cancer to begin with. as only a mother could say. when i went into see her after the operation. "john, why did you do this to me, i didn't have anything wrong." mom's sure know how to get a point across. g
