I always get a home inspection, and I crawl the spaces myself. It's the smart thing to do.

The people selling the condo that my friend looked at fought having anyone go up in the attic. Another friend of hers went up a few weeks before we did, but they had prior notice and no mold spores were found. The visit we made was spontaneous and it was a real mess. We figure they must have gone up with a broom and them washed it with something the first time, which probably encouraged more growth.

They didn't care........all they wanted to do was sell the property.

What they did is called fraudulent concealment, and the sellers would be exposed to big liability for their actions.

<<mold spores>>

Edwarda on SI helped a friend clean out an old house. Had flu symptoms for 6 months then got really sick and died in a week. She was so deformed that her sister who she did lunch with every week could't id her. Mold killed her.
