I never get selected for jury duty, although I get that notice to attend every few years... during jury selection, every time the attorney asks me if I give more credibility to the police officer because he's a police officer, I say, "Of course, absolutely."

When they ask me why, I tell them that a police officer is a sworn officer of the court just like you are (speaking to the lawyer), you're an officer of the court, aren't you? Would I expect you to lie? Aren't you and the police officer held to a higher level of standard than an ordinary citizen who's not a sworn officer of the court?

They never have an answer, they just dismiss me, the judge writes a big letter D on my jury ticket and I go home...<g>
