The evidence for this is very strong. Keeping a secret of the existence of Australia for 250 years is impressive.

Yes, I saw that. Also, Abel Tasman discovered NZ before Cook. Rumour has it that some migrants from the Taiwan area discovered it about 1000 years ago, island hopping across the Pacific Ocean over a 1000 years or so. They call themselves Maoris. They sound kind of Japanese and I suppose Taiwanese [not the new-fangled Chinese-type conquering Taiwanese]. Long, long before that, during the last glaciation, when sea levels were at normal levels much lower than now, people moved into Australia.

My favourite migration fact is that the first bloke to leave Africa and who fathered all humans outside Africa left only about 30,000 years ago. The first mother was about 100,000 years ago if I remember rightly. The difference is to do with the relative survival rates of males and females. Males get in wars and females don't. Winning males took over the rest. Genghis Khan in the same way has a modern world record number of descendants.

Only 30,000 years!! And genetic filtering has been going flat out ever since.
