Uh, not to MY knowledge. But slash-and-burn is used by poor people and we know they can do no wrong, right?

Slash-and-burn is common in Yucatan (and other parts of Mexico, I'm sure. We were forced out of Turkey by the "burn" part of slash-and-burn because of respiratory problems caused by the smoke.

Excellent point. But then, it isn't Americans doing the slashing & burning, so Gore simply ignores it. But then it's like so many other significant sources of greenhouse gases that can't be blamed on Americans that gets little or no mention.
