The biggest reason most of us thought so was not anything the White House spokespersons said, it was SH's cat and mouse games with inspectors.

We were talking about nuclear weapons specifically. Who, besides Dick Cheney, thought Iraq had nuclear weapons?

What was the basis of Cheney's statement?:

"We believe he has, in fact, reconstituted nuclear weapons."

I think that they lied about the extent of Saddam's threat to us for the purpose of taking the nation to war.

That is an impeachable offence.
