You would still have to pay a tax when you re-registered them in Washington, wouldn't you. MD does

Our sales tax for the State depends on where you live. Ours here is currently between 8.9% and 9.1%...on most things. Gas tax for WA State is 34 cents per gallon, near the top in the Nation...and that doesn't include the 18.3 cents (18.4?) per gallon of Federal Tax....
