My concern with letting the neighbors glom onto your wireless signal is that your network might be compromised to hackers (the neighbors themselves, or drive by's).

I have my wireles WEP coded, and need to change it more frequently. My neighbor across the street has an unsecured network, and I glom onto his signal at times if I am having trouble with my connection.
