Fla. has no income tax, yet our sales tax is 6.5%. jdn

Washington taxes everything! The State is just about as bad as NY State in that regard...MA too... Check the hotel tax in your area, then check it in the Seattle area (last time I looked it was 14.6% here and more if you are in a 60+ room hotel and in DT Bellevue to help pay for the Maybenbauer Ctr...)...and add the parking and taxes on top of it....

The Ferry System has another new Rate increase early in May....Already, it's very expensive for just a jaunt across the sound and back...2 Srs, and 2 kids under 18 and the car are about $36 for the day....plus whatever else one does...

It must cost a fortune to commute!
