So AMD is a socially useful enterprise that should be funded by the public, so that it can make and sell processors regardless of profit. I suppose we should now extend the paradigm to graphics cards.

and I thought he saying "factually" that AMD was overly subsidized by the public sector and not able to compete
otherwise.....who knows what the true facts are but both
are on the dole to some extent....but my original point stands..I think..that AMDs presence has been good for the users/consumers of CPUs in terms of price and probably
the rate of tech improvement....not so good for holders of AMD and INTC stock..
