That's a great story! I'll tell it to my Mother In Law. She hates those Japanese Beetles. People think biological controls are so neat, but they obey the law of unintended consequences just like anything else.

Speaking of beetles, there is a large, extensive article in this morning's paper about the devastation our Rocky Mountain Pine Beetle is causing. The conclusion is that nothing can be done about these forest killers until they literally eat themselves out of food. The forests will be destroyed and mother nature will have to start all over. Driving in the Colorado mountains clearly shows the damage as you can see acre after acre of dead pines. Of course, this drastically increases fire danger and on and on. It's just a sad sight.
