Suma - You are so right about how fear has been used by the Bush Administration to enhance their power. Every time Cheney says someone is "undermining the troops" or "encouraging our enemies" he's doing it again. Your post reminded me of a comic strip my ex-wife did during the anthrax scare of 2001. Remember that? Remember how Congressional offices kept getting shut down so the guys in hazmat suits could go in after somebody sent some flour to some congressman?
