My very first thought after learning.....kind of since I wasn't there and can't really be sure......was "where in the heck was the British Navy and what was the COC doing/thinking?"

The term lilylivered comes to mind.

In other words, the frigate was standing close by and el Commodore Chickenshit stood by and watched his men being approached by six (!) boats from Iranian waters, detained at gunpoint, and led away.

I bet that costs him his command and is going to cost the coalition big bucks, maybe lives, to get them back. I bet they are gonna try and exchange them for the Iranians who came over to our side. I hope we dont do it. jdn

Was the frigate armed?? And if so, did the Commodore have authorization to use weapons against the small boats?

Remember, the Brits of today (politicians) aren't the same as in the day of Churchill nor Thatcher.

Think Socialist/Marxist George Galloway.

What would have happened if the situation was the US, and the Commander had to call the House so called leaders?
