A colleague's daughter was in her apartment minding her own business when a round from across the street (fired by some goblin without a brain) penetrated her walls and killed her. She was less than 30 years old. Over penetration should always be a concern for anyone intending to use a firearm for protection in the home. I keep my sawed off loaded with #2 steel shot. Don't want to mess up the house. Excellent suggestion. It also protects the kids in other rooms. That is made even better if a low velocity load is used.
