A 2 great uncle was injured (shoulder) in the battle of Pleasant Hill, LA on April 9, 1864. He died May 9, 1864. Was a POW captured by the Confederates. I just recently found out the battle (thanks to Internet) but don't still know where he was buried. The Confederates sent some of the POW's to Tyler Texas, then some of those came back to Pleasant Hill....

He was in the Iowa Infantry....still need to find out who/how to find where he died and is buried....

I can not imagine having any kind of wound, being captured, and having to travel with the wound and no treatment for it....
