My last "dip" in Lake Superior was when I was traveling with my mother and brothers and sisters in the UP. I must have been all of 10.

When I refused to go in, they picked me up, carried me over and dropped me in.

That was enough to cure me of any desire to swim in that lake.

If you want quiet isolation, and not go to Canada, you might try here...lots of fishing, and beaches....<ggg>
