Yes, it's crystal clear to most of the country now, I suspect, that 9-11 happening on GWB's watch compounded that disaster out of all proportions. I thought the Brezsinski (sp??) piece you posted was superb in that regard.

Now you can add to that the visceral thrill of wielding enormous unaccountable power in the new security state crafted by big-government conservatives.

Of all the damage done by this admin that needs to be corrected, I fear the portion most resistant to being walked back is the security state aspect.
