I do agree Iraq will remain a big issue, but it's much more important to dems and independents. I think the economy has the potential to undercut the republicans by killing some vulnerable low income republican voters- so the republicans have the potential of being hammered in two ways. Iraq will draw the ire of more and more dems and independents- making the next election extremely polarizing for them, and the economy has the potential of killing low/middle class republican support- leaving the republicans with a very small base indeed.
