Not true. AMD's own ASP is heavily influenced by product mix.

They need to sell a larger percentage of their products into the higher ASP segments. It doesn't matter whether those segments have gone down in price, as long as they remain much higher than the commoditized segments that AMD pursued in Q4.

Of course, focusing on the higher ASP segments would mean de-emphasizing overall unit share and emphasizing larger, lower yielding parts. And that would go against AMD's long-term goal of 30% market share.
