That resolution has no relevance to what is happening in Iraq today. I suggest you read Brzezinski's comments. They are published in the latest edition of Harpets. You can also find his comments to Congress on the internet.

The entire rush to war in Iraq was based on lies, disinformation, exaggerations, fear and smear campaigns, demonization of allies and the UN and out-dated intel from the 80's and early 90's.

So you have a situation where Bush-Cheney are either wholly incompetent or dishonest. Or both. Which do you think it is?

Me-thinks the real reason Bush-cheney wanted to invade so fast was to grab the oil-fields. For those two, that was plenty of motivation. But they neglected to pla for the reality of the post-invasion period. That proved gross dereliction of duty, another impeachable offense.

Oh yeah, Bush also has a serious father complex and wanted to show he had bigger balls than poppy. And Cheney knew Halliburton would make 10 billion easy taxpayer cashola. A real bonanza. Plus Rove knew he could use the war to prop up Bush's approval ratings and hurt democrats by calling them "traitors" and "weak on defense" if they asked questions.
