The two big breakthroughs we need for a new solar-powered hydrogen economy are denser batteries and cheaper solar cells. As for government rebates, I don't include them as part of the discussion, since it doesn't lower the overall cost. All it does is transfer part of the cost from the average citizen to the government, and we all know that government isn't exactly flush in surplus funds these days. Tenchusatsu
