Let's cut the BS about "liberal taxes" pal. The fact of the matter is that even Bush has admitted we need to get off gasoline in the next 20 years. If you are going to achieve that you need to hand out tax incentives and subsidies for the cleaner fuels and energy sources, and tax the polluting ones. There is nothing wrong with that. It's the most efficient method known to change public behavior, reward good behavior punish bad. Those who want to continue gas guzzling can do so, but it will be a luxury. Those who own the cleanest most efficient vehicles will be greatly rewarded and little by little we won't have to kowtow to the Saudis anymore. Or Huge Chavez either. PS: We also need better public transporation including light rail. They have a great train in San Franciso that takes you all the way to your airport terminal. That saves a huge amount of gasoline and traffic conjestion. And a lot of time.
