Get serious. The rightwing smears and spin trying to marginalize environmentism as something "extreme" and "wacko" is a very out-dated and totally dishonest attempt to mask the facts almost everyone recognizes by now. All three of the top GOP contenders for 2008 take global warming very seriously. All three know Bush-Cheney only fight it because of their allegiance to big oil and polluters. So why side with the obvious villains in this case? Just to parrot Exxon BS? Why try to deny reality? Environmentalism is totally mainstream now. It's not liberal or conservative. In fact "conservative" should mean wanting to conserve energy and our air, water and wildlands. The real reason for this kind of BS is the huge chunks of cashola big oil and polluters have paid Bush, Cheney and their cronies over the years. That's all this is about. Whores vs. concerned citizens.
