I personally believe that the poverty that is endemic in Muslim countries, has made those Muslims easy prey for radicals with money and an anti-American agenda

Poverty stricken like Osama? Poverty stricken like the haus de saud who is openly funding radical mosques and madrassas in the US and other western countries?

Re: I think we ought to take some of these kooky Imams bring them to this country and lock them in a room with Pat Robertson and some of the kooky Christian far right.

While it is undoubtedly true that every side has its share of kooks, only in islam does it seem acceptable by the great majority to kill to advance their belief.

The 9/11 hijackers had access to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Money was certainly not an issue for them or what they did.

And if your argument is true that poverty breeds this type of utter malevolence, then why don't we see poor Nepalese/Tibetans killing and carrying out attacks? They are some of the poorest people in the world. Or Bolivia? Home to the regions poorest country. Or India? Home to millions of famished people.

The argument simply rings hollow, as we are dealing with an ideology wrapped in death. There is simply no way around that.
