Liberals have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Whatever they want to call themselves. Over the past six years they have been PROVEN RIGHT on virtually every single issue and the majority of Americans agree with them now on all those issues. What the rightwing has done on the other hand is subvert and corrupt conservatism. That used to be a proud word, but now it's badly tarnished and has come to mean "corrupt", "greedy", "arrogant" and "dishonest". Liberal has come to mean someone who was right after all. but really, we Dems are progressives and progressive centrists. Plus a new progressive conservatives. Liberal is a word which went out in the 70's.
