In Judge Bean's time, that probably would have occurred if a crime of this nature occurred. It's hard to imagine this kind of crime happening back then, but it could have and not many people were aware of it because news did not travel back then as it does now.

It will be interesting to see how he pleads and the evidence presented at his trial. I think he will probably say he didn't mean to kill her and after he did he conceived the idea to dismember her, dispose of her and try not to be caught for the crime.

Durst got away with killing his black neighbor in Galveston claiming they were fighting over a gun and he didn't mean to kill him but the gun went off and his neighbor was shot in the head. He became scared, dismembered his body and threw it into Galveston Bay. They discovered his torso and body parts in garbage bags, but they could never prove how he died as his head has never been found. Guess we will never know if he threw it in the bay as he said he did or disposed of it elsewhere. He was found NG. He did have other legal problems after his trial was over and served a short sentence but is out now and has moved to a community outside of Houston. He sold his interests in his family's New York real estate trust to his remaining family members after his release, is frugal and has many millions to live on. His first wife disappeared years ago before he moved to Texas and she nor her body has ever been found. It seems they did not have enough evidence to charge him, but many in New York believe he killed her, dismembered her and dumped her in the river and got away with that crime. I read that she is still listed as a missing person in New York.

It is thundering and lightening here so I'm going off line because of it. Sounds like it is getting close as rain is hitting my window. It is way past my bedtime too, but I am still catching up from being gone week before last. Glad I am retired...I can sleep late this morning.
