rkral--Though MediaFLO gets mentioned in the media, I do not believe that the value of owning and controlling spectrum in major metropolitan areas has registered on analysts. The reason for this is hard to explain. But the value would be similar to that given to TV stations, since this, after all, is just another way to transmit video. An FCC license to transmit video in a given metropolitan area (more so than in rural areas) has great value. QUALCOMM is seen mainly as a designer and producer of chips and other devices for wireless communication, NOT as the owner of a TV franchise.

Once MediaFLO is implemented and analysts see the kind of revenues it generates for QCOM, then this mindset will change.
