Lauer's Sprint Departure ...

<< Speaking of Sextel, what were the circumstances of Len Lauer`s departure? And what is the extent of his rapport with current management, if he has any? >>

I'm not really sure on either count. At the time of his Sexyel departure there were several comments like this one ...

The troubles at SprintNextel continue, after a spate of bad earnings and slow growth: Len Lauer, the COO, will be leaving Sprint Nextel effective immediately, and Gary Forsee, president and CEO, will assume Lauer’s operating responsibilities and the COO position won’t be filled. No specific reason was given, which for such a big company and such a high-profile position is a bit weird. WSJ: Sprint would not comment on the reason for Lauer’s departure, other than to say it was the result of “restructuring” at the company. Sprint also declined to make Lauer available for comment. The company appeared to be responding to pressure to make a change in the wake of weak recent performance, said Ric Prentiss, an analyst at Raymond James. “Some investors were hoping for a change in management...Someone had to fall on the sword.”
